Fjösn – Reception, Breakfast & Northern Lights Lounge
Fjösn is the heart of our resort. It serves as our reception building, breakfast area, and a cozy gathering place for guests. The old barn has been carefully rebuilt into a warm and welcoming space where everyone can meet, relax, and prepare for the evening ahead.
During the evenings, while waiting for the northern lights, you are welcome to come inside and unwind. When the aurora appears, our team will notify you. Just outside the door it is completely dark, allowing you to step out and enjoy the sky before returning inside to the warmth.
“Fjösn” is built inside a renovated barn where we have preserved the original character while adding large glass surfaces and simple, modern touches. It is located within easy walking distance of all accommodation units at the resort.
Please note that we do not operate a restaurant at the resort. However, several local restaurants and dining options are located within approximately 10–15 minutes driving distance. We are also happy to assist guests with transportation when needed.

Fjösn is the heart of our resort
Fjösn serves as our reception building, breakfast area, and a warm gathering place for guests. By day it is a relaxed social hub, and in the evenings a cozy northern lights lounge where you can wait comfortably for the aurora.
Breakfast
Breakfast is included in your stay. We offer a simple self-service breakfast with freshly baked bread, local produce, coffee, tea, juice, and a selection of cold breakfast items. Please note that we do not offer a cooked hot breakfast.
Waiting area for the aurora
You are welcome to use our waiting area in Fjösn while keeping an eye on the sky. It is a warm and comfortable place to relax during the evening, meet other guests, and wait for our team to notify you when the northern lights appear.
Photographer on location
During aurora season, we often have a photographer available on location. When conditions allow, we help capture memorable photos of guests beneath the northern lights, and the images are shared with you after your stay.
Pickup / Dropoff
Pickup and dropoff to and from Finnsnes is included when you book directly through our website. Pickup and dropoff are available between 15:00–22:00 and 08:00–15:00.
Campfire
Our campfire areas offer a cozy place to gather while waiting for the aurora. On selected evenings, this can be a warm and atmospheric part of the northern lights experience.
Groceries & Nearby Restaurants
In the nearby area, approximately 10–15 minutes from the resort, you will find several grocery stores where you can purchase everything needed for cooking in your apartment or preparing meals during your stay.
There are also multiple restaurants and dining options within the same driving distance. While the selection is naturally smaller than in larger cities, there are still several good alternatives available for both lunch and dinner.
Since most accommodation units include kitchens, many guests choose to combine local dining experiences with cooking and relaxing at the resort.
Important: During public holidays and certain off-season periods, some nearby restaurants may have limited opening hours or remain closed.

Our main goal is that you can see the aurora while staying here. You can also explore the culture of Senja Island and enjoy many other activities. Enjoy the silence and lovely atmosphere where your well-being is in focus. Our goal is to create the best Aurora Borealis experience.
Northern Lights Activities on Location / Handled by ourselves
Since we are located on a small little hill with amazing surroundings we also offer on location activities. You can enjoy Photo classes, learn about aurora, go on hikes to our different viewpoints, simple skiing when we have snow and start the national scenic route from here. If you want to experience the city of Tromsø we recommend a day trip, as this is super simple in terms of logistics.
Northern Lights Activities provided by our collaborators
For those who wants more action we are also proud to say that we can offer the best providers in the nearby area. We only offer the most popular ones and all our collaborators will pick you up before the activity, and bring you back to the resort after. Most popular activities from our collaborators have been husky, mountain hikes and snowmobile.
