How likely is it to see the Northern Lights here? +

We are located in one of the most reliable northern lights regions in the world. With dark surroundings and minimal light pollution, conditions are ideal when the sky is clear and activity is present.

How many nights should I stay? +

We recommend staying at least 2–3 nights to increase your chances of seeing the aurora. Weather conditions can vary, so flexibility is key.

Do you wake guests when the aurora appears? +

Yes — this is one of our most appreciated services. If the northern lights appear during the night, we notify our guests so you never miss the experience.

Can I see the Northern Lights from my room? +

Many of our accommodations offer large windows and direct views of the sky. However, for the best experience, we recommend stepping outside into the dark surroundings.

Do you help with Northern Lights photography? +

Yes — we are experienced aurora photographers and are happy to help you with settings, tips and capturing the perfect shot during your stay.

Is Senja better than Tromsø for Northern Lights? +

Senja offers darker skies, less light pollution, and a more peaceful experience. While Tromsø is easier to reach, many travelers prefer Senja for its natural surroundings and atmosphere.

How do I get to Aurora Borealis Observatory? +

The closest airport is Bardufoss, just over an hour away. Tromsø is also a popular option. We provide guidance and can assist with transport from Finnsnes.

Do I need a car during my stay? +

No, many guests stay without a car. We can assist with transport and organize activities, allowing you to relax and enjoy your stay.

How cold does it get? +

Winter temperatures typically range from -5°C to -20°C. Warm clothing is essential, and we recommend layering properly for comfort.

What should I pack for my stay? +

Bring warm winter clothing, good shoes, gloves, and a hat. If you plan to photograph the aurora, a camera and tripod are recommended.

What happens if we don’t see the aurora? +

The northern lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed. However, we do everything possible to maximize your chances and guide you during your stay.
