Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence

Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence for our first season!

trip advisor certificate of excellence

Tripadvisor certificate of excellence: For its very first season, our resort, the Aurora Borealis Observatory, got the prestigious 2019 certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor! Let’s go back on the many wonderful stories that helped achieve this goal in record time.

If you had googled ‘Aurora Borealis Observatory’ two years ago, you would have found absolutely nothing because the observatory wasn’t even born. In 2017, we decided to undertake this incredible and ambitious project to build a resort exclusively focused on the aurora, nature and well-being. 2017-2018 was a test season where we received a few guests here and there but there was no accommodation on location. Everything changed in the summer of 2018. In less than three months, we built a six-apartment building and renovated old facilities to accommodate guests right on the observatory hill with one of the best vistas of Lapland.

The start of the 2018-2019 was a bit tedious as we literally started from scratch. However from October the number of bookings started skyrocketing and we made important adjustments as we went. Against all our expectations, the resort got fully booked from February till the start of April, and we even had to put people on the waiting list. At the observatory, we focus primarily on the aurora but the general Arctic experience and human interaction remain paramount. This year we valued all the feedback that helped us get better extremely fast and meet our customers’ demand.

Within just 7 months under our belt, we succeeded in tallying 69 reviews on Trip Advisor and many more on Google and Facebook. Out of the 69, 60 customer reviews were graded ‘excellent’, which allowed us to get the 2019 Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence today! We are absolutely thrilled and proud to have gotten such positive feedback in such little time. The aurora will always remain as it is but our motto is to always keep on getting better at what we do. We have great plans for the next seasons to come, as we want the resort to become the best aurora destination in the world.

Here we share a review from the 2018-2019 season. We felt like it really recapped everything and reflected what we want to convey.

Learned about this place through social media and followed their postings and activities for a few months. Loving what I saw, I visited their website and found very extensive descriptions of their property, the logistics of going there and other activities they offer besides viewing the Aurora. Everything you need to know is in the site.

I wrote to the owner, Anders, re a few questions about our planned visit and was happy to receive a very immediate reply. He was quite attentive and accommodating which made me feel assured my husband and I are in good hands.

The apartment had huge picture windows facing a spectacular view, wc made staying indoors during extremely cold moments a welcome treat. The unit is warm, cozy and complete with facilities for the adventure traveler.

As a welcome, the Aurora treated us to a magical show on our first night. Adrien, the Aurora guide and who is an extremely gifted astrophotographer, gives workshops on night photography. We were able to put into practice what we learned earlier in the day resulting to gratifying photos.

This is the best place to see the northern lights as you don’t need to go around chasing them. You merely need to step outside and be mesmerized.’

Our goal is to make our customers feel at home with our very cosy and modern apartments. We want them to have the best Arctic experience possible during their stay. This year our guests were notified when there was aurora and almost no one missed it. Next year, we will strive to continue getting excellent satisfaction rates but we will not stop there. There will be a lot more improvements in the whole experience, including the possibility of dining at our own Norwegian restaurant, the access to an actual glass-roofed aurora observatory lounge, the access to an activity house in case of bad weather with focus on learning all about the aurora, ice and sea fishing experiences, and much more! We are already 40% booked for next season and we are filling up fast. But it is not too late to book your next delightful Arctic adventure at our resort, so make your way to OUR RESORT to find out more. We are looking forward to welcoming you.

We are proud receiving the TripAdvisor certificate of excellence !
